Expectations...
My group did a project on the expectations of education.
It is about looking at education from different perspectives,
namely the four stakeholders:
(i) Parents,
(ii) Students,
(iii) Government,
(iv) Teacher.
All of these stakeholders have different expections of the role of education..
And being beginning teachers,
Whose expectations will you try to fulfil?
You are like one being in the middle...
Being tugged at different directions...
Handling the parents,
Taking care of your students' needs,
Fulfilling the government's initiatives,
And fulfilling your own expectations of the class...
Certain expectations conflict...
Whose expectations will you try to fulfil when you are being tugged at so many different directions...
Different groups of people expects different things out of you...
You... have to make a stand...
It is one whole long essay talking about this whole issue...
What I have mentioned here is not even half of the whole point...
Talking about expectations...
I have been thinking recently about my own life...
My life and my expectations...
I realised that in certain aspects,
I have placed too high an expectation of myself...
I try to be a perfectionist in the academic aspect...
I can't accept slipshod work...(if it's slight, it is ok)
I look right into the minor details in the work I am called to do...
Sometimes this gets too tiring...
But I'll still persevere on...
Unknowingly,I have set certain expectations of myself...
If these expectations are not met,
I get slightly disappointed...
The same old adage rings in my head...
"Do your best and let God do the rest.."
Sometimes...
Doing your best...
And keeping up with your best effort...
Becomes tiring...
And you wanna take a break...
